Cloned EPCs for Social Housing |
Home Page |
From 1 October 2008 sellers and landlords will be required by law to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for all buildings or parts of buildings when they are sold or rented. |
In the case of Social Housing, much of the housing stock may be the same type, size and construction, and may have the same type of heating and insulation. Where this occurs, a SAMPLING approach can be taken. This is where a sample of all the housing stock is assessed and CLONED EPCs can then be generated for the rest of the properties. This is a much cheaper and quicker option than assessing all the properties individually. |
Not all Home Inspectors/Energy Assessors are qualified to produce Cloned EPCs as additional training is required. |
